This is definetly a self-titled piece lol, yes this is what I think I am ... A BEAUTIFUL CREATIVE MESS, need I say more. I had so much fun creating this! There are a few things I would do different and quite honestly I might go in and add some things later BUT I'm still happy with how this turned out considering it was my first official canvas. I am working on doing what I love without judgment...Art without judgement, martial arts without judgement, exercise without judgement...well you get the idea lol. I have to say that I am finding this mixed media thing to be completely freeing, I find myself creating and playing in a way I never let myself with scrapbooking, I'm not sure why but here it is and I am loving it. I feel like a little kit just experimenting and playing with inks and paper and pens...so fun. I can't draw so that will definitely be one of the skills I will be working on improving. A few things about this canvas that you should know first the lettering
was all done with OLD stickers, I mean old! Some of the Creative
Memories stickers, some I got at a dollar store and another set all at
least 6 years old maybe older. I used the technique shown in Christy Tomlinson's tutorial on the Do What Matter's Most Canvas, I like the
look of the letters this way, by using them as masks it gives it a whole
other look and dimension. The rest as done with just acrylic paint and
different found items I used for texture. Oh and since I am new at
this I have just been using your basic black sharpie, I don't want to
invest a ton of money on expensive tools...YET!

Art journaling...my new passion
I have been wanting to start this lovely artistic outlet for quite some time but didn't allow myself to since I felt I didn't have time, but one day I decided I was just going to do it. I jumped right in and really don't want to stop, I love to write and that has been another creative outlet pouring from me these days as well. But this blog isn't about writing it's about my creative exploration in to art journaling. I have to say there is something very liberating about art journaling or maybe it's not that it is more liberating but rather maybe I myself am feeling more liberated and not allowing myself to be constrained by rules, my need for perfection, rather I just throw whatever I want on the page that feels right! So these are the few I've done since last week.
